Basic obedience commands are taught utilizing positive reinforcement. Behaviors taught include: Sit, Down, Heel, Come, Sit-Stay, Down-Stay. After the behavior is learned, clicks/treats are faded and distractions added. Your friend will be willing and able to complete the requirements of the AKC's Canine Good Citizen program, in addition to being a wonderful, well-mannered companion!
For those desiring to go further, advanced obedience training is also available. Added behaviors include: Stand for Exam, Finish and Off-leash Heeling with attention. Rigorous proofing will be added to the six basic behaviors with attention to details to enable your dog to complete the requirements of the Novice level AKC title, the Companion Dog [CD].
Modification of undesirable behaviors [jumping up, excessive chewing, digging, barking, etc.] can also be addressed.
Retriever training is available. Whether you desire Hunt Test titles or simply a good hunting companion CopperStill can help you achieve your goals. We use birds along with bumpers and Dokkens.
